Therapeutic Advice and Information Service (TAIS)
The National Prescribing Service (NPS) Therapeutic Advice and Information Service (TAIS) is a national telephone service for GPs, Pharmacists and other health professionals that provides immediate access to independent, evidence-based information on medicines.
For the cost of a local call – contact TAIS for answers to questions on:
• Information about new drugs
• Interactions with other drugs, foods, alcohol, or complimentary medicines and advice on management
• Side effects, especially unusual ones not included in the product information
• Safety of drugs in pregnancy and lactation
• Use of drugs in unapproved indications: is there good evidence, if any, to support such use?
If your question cannot be answered immediately, TAIS staff will return your call as soon as possible. A written answer can be supplied.
